________________________________________________________________________
Introduction: Neck pain is a very common complaint in the general population, leading to functional limitations across the region cervicoescapular. Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of Elastic Bandage Therapy (EBT) in patients complaining of acute non-traumatic neck pain. Methods: Initially, 20 volunteers were willing to participate in the study but, according to the exclusion criteria and absence of the revaluation, only 10 remained. Was performed to measure the range of motion (ROM) of the cervical spine with the aid of a goniometer, and application of the visual analogue scale (VAS) and the Neck Disability Index questionnaire (NDI) in two different moments: before applying the EBT and 1 hour after application of BET, while it was applied to the Visual Analog Scale for Pain (VAS) to measure pain before and after application of EBT and the Neck Disability Index (NDI) questionnaire for neck, also applied in two stages. The application of EBT was performed on points in the region of the upper and middle trapezius bilaterally. Results: The VAS and NDI had their scores reduced after 1 hour of application of EBT, which is a good predictor for improvement of neck pain. With the exception of the tilt right, all cervical movements had an average increase of angle measured by the goniometer. Regarding the rotation to the right, the rotation to the left and extension was a significant difference (p<0.05). In relation to other movements, there were significant differences (p>0.05). Conclusion: In survey research conducted with 10 subjects, it was observed that the application of Elastic Bandage Therapy volunteers complaining of neck pain and joint limitation, positive influence on increasing range of motion of the cervical region and reducing pain and cervical dysfunction through the findings of the EVA and the score on the NDI, respectively.
