| Resumo: | A perda de um elemento facial, tal como o bulbo ocular, é algo que afeta diretamente a vida do ser humano. Quando ocorrida na infância, as consequências podem seguir tanto no âmbito físico, como social e emocional. O propósito deste trabalho foi relatar o tratamento reabilitador estético oftálmico de uma paciente infantil, submetida à enucleação do bulbo ocular direito. O tratamento proposto foi a instalação de prótese ocular estética, trocada periodicamente, ao longo de sete anos. Para a confecção dessas próteses, foram utilizadas escleras artificias pré-fabricadas em resina acrílica, adaptadas ao formato da cavidade anoftálmica. Sobre as escleras artificiais, a caracterização estética foi realizada com tinta a óleo, pigmentos acrílicos e resina acrílica incolor. Ao longo do tratamento, foram obtidos resultados estéticos, psicossociais e comportamentais esperados do desenvolvimento normal de uma criança saudável. A reabilitação precoce, com prótese ocular estética, promove correto crescimento facial, bem estar pessoal e interpessoal, eliminando o trauma decorrente de um defeito maxilofacial aparente, não reabillitado. _________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
The loss of a facial element, such as the eye, is something that directly affects human life. When it occurs in childhood, the consequences may follow both the physical context, as social and emotional. The purpose of this study was to report the ophthalmic aesthetic rehabilitative treatment of a child patient who underwent enucleation of the right eye ball. The proposed treatment was to install aesthetic prosthesis, exchanged periodically over seven years. Prefabricated artificial sclera were used in acrylic resin for making these prostheses, adapted to the shape of the anophthalmic socket. About artificial sclera, aesthetic characterization was performed with oil paint, acrylic pigments and colorless acrylic resin. During treatment, aesthetic, psychosocial and behavioral outcomes expected from the normal development of a healthy child were obtained. Early rehabilitation with aesthetic prosthesis, promotes correct facial growth, personal and interpersonal well-being, eliminating the trauma from an apparent maxillofacial defect, not rehabilitated. |
