| Abstract: | Today, every organization is thriving for innovation, but very few are actively trying to learn
how to nurture an environment that allows innovation to flourish. In order to shed some light
on this topic, this thesis presents and tests a model for the management of innovation and
creativity within organizations. The model was previously tested to nourish creativity within
university classrooms. Now, it was tested and adapted to better represent the management of
creativity and innovation in dynamic organizations, such as Start-Ups, Junior Enterprises, and
competition teams. The used concepts were the Four Stages of innovation, the Four Ps of
creativity, the Six unleash and harness paradoxes, Daniel Goleman’s Leadership Styles, and
Psychological Safety concept. They were key components for the development of the model
and for a better comprehension of what composes the complex environment within dynamic
organizations. With the listed concepts in focus, a script was developed and used to interview
nine leaders of eight different organizations in qualitative interviews. With the interview’s
answers, 10 boards were developed. Focusing the analysis and allowing comparison between
the interviewed. As a result, the model was validated within the organizations and the concepts
were enriched through the understanding of such complex environments. |
