Abstract: The present work has as its theme / problem the school attendance carried out by monitors in the stage of early childhood, which in the Federal District, is offered in day care centers, institutions mostly agreed with the State and in Early Childhood Centers. Our debate is centered on the care provided in the institutions agreed upon, on which we highlight two aspects that we consider essential for quality work: the pedagogical training of the monitors and the balance between care and education. The objective of this study is to analyze the pedagogical action of the monitors who work in the daycare centers agreed with SEEDF. The methodology used was the qualitative research, which sought to approximate the questions raised during the study, in order to relate the knowledge of the theory in the light of reality. It was observed the monitoring, the actions and pedagogical practices of the monitors in an accredited day care center of the Federal District. In addition, interviews were conducted with: two teachers, two monitors, the director and the pedagogical coordinator, with a focus on training and monitors with children and teachers. The results point out how much care and education are dissociated. There are non-pedagogical actions and, moreover, there is no understanding of the dimension of education and commitment to the integral development of the child, where children are valued in their autonomy. In addition, gender diversity and distinction in day care have been shown to be worrying factors. In the conclusions it is considered important the continuous formation of the monitors and the relation of exchanges of experiences and learning between them and teachers. It is also considered essential that the school's management team be politically and formative, not only based on the training provided by the Federal District Department of Education, but also promoting space and time for socialization, exchange of knowledge and experiences, continuing education and studies using the Pedagogical Political Project and document that govern the Early Childhood Education.
